IRC @ the Welsh Inter-Regional X/C Championships
 
 
 
Well done to Haydn Hartnell, Lee Mills, Nicola Howls, Kelly Felstead and Kelly Wall! All five were selected to represent East Wales in their respective age categories at the Welsh Inter-Regional X/C Champs held in Brecon on December 10th. They all got wet & muddy too!
 

IRC AGM
 
The AGM took place as advertised on Tuesday 6th December at 8:00 p.m. in the Islwyn Bowls Club. All existing officers were re-elected and are as follows:

..to our very own Ceri Bartley who was selected to represent Wales in her age group for the British & Irish Masters International X/C fixture held in Glasgow on 12th November. Possibly the first time an IRC athlete has earned themselves a Welsh vest?

Winter LCL & Gwent League 2016/7 X/C Race Series
 


Did you give them a clean before you put them away last season? The dates for your diary for the LCL X/C series are as follows:
 
Race 1: Sun. 23rd Oct. 2016.

Venue : Rogerstone Primary School, Ebenezer Drive, Rogerstone, NP10 9YX.
The presentation of awards for the GLCL 2016/17 Road Race Series and the Combined Series will take place afterwards.

The presentation to acknowledge and reward the winners and runners up of the 2015/6 GLCL X/C series took place after the first GLCL road series race of the season at the Olive Tree hosted by Griffithstown Harriers. IRC had the following representatives:

Steve Lane 3rd M40-44
 
Islwyn women 5th overall in the series, Islwyn men 4th overall in the series.

The evening of Friday 29th January saw Islwyn Running Club hold their 2015 awards evening once again at the New Forge in Oakdale, with an attendance in excess of 80 guests.
